Why is your name in sTiCkY cApS? [Top]
I know it's annoying and I have it that I don't like sTiCky cApS. But kIKi DOES NOT look right when it's Kiki. It just looks weird. I do have two other alternatives to my name spelling though if you want. 1. kiki (all lowercase) 2. kIki (only the first I is capitalized)
How'd you come up with your name? [Top]
Well my favorite anime is Inuyasha. And I like Kikyo better than I do Kagome, although I don't like the fact that she's out to kill Inuyasha. Inuyasha is too pretty to be killed. Anyhow, I didn't want just the name Kikyo because a lot of people like her and use that name. So I chose Kiki, but didn't like how it looked. My friends all had sticky caps, or a certain 'style' to their aliases so I wanted one too. The name ISN'T from Kiki's Delivery Service. The actual name is supposed to be: ~kIKi~. Now my name is not thought of as from "Kikyo," it's more of my identity online now.
Why is your email so long? [Top]
Well, I made my email a long time ago when I first started to become insanely obsessed with Inuyasha. Of course, I have three other email addresses, but the email address I use (inuyashaluvinmiko) is also the email I use to log in to the internet on my account (I use MSN), and so to change it would mean to switch my contacts on Messenger, and I have signed up at different sites under this address. Most people contact me using this address so changing it would make things complicated.
Can I use your graphics on my site? [Top]
If you mean use them as in web layouts and stuff as the layout for your site, of course. If you mean putting them up for other people to take/use, that's a big, fat NO. You can just link to my site from yours.
Can we be affiliates or something? [Top]
Of course! As long as you follow the rules and as long as your site meets our requirements and is NOT a dead site. Go to 'Affiliates' and then 'Apply' if you want to affy with us.
Can I edit the graphics for my use? [Top]
Of course, but this is recommended for experienced webdesigners. Just because you edit them DOES NOT mean that it's yours. It's © to me, so do not say it's yours. It's considered stealing.
Can I move your link credit to a credits page? [Top]
No. NO NO NO NO NO. And NO. I put it up on the front for a reason. Putting it on a credits page alone is also considered "stealing" or "claiming" my graphics as your own.
Can I be staff? [Top]
No. I'm not accepting staff at this time so don't bother to ask.
Can I request? [Top]
No. I'm busy with school and offline stuff and requests annoy me. I may only do requests if I feel like it, specifically for friends.
Why are your rules so strict? [Top]
A precaution. The rules aren't hard, and there isn't very many. I just want to make SOS a safe site for all visitors, and a pleasant visit for them. This is also to make things easier for me (affiliation requests, etc.). They're meant to keep YOU safe, not for me. They benefit YOU.
What is Direct Linking? [Top]
Direct linking is when you look in someone's source code to find the url of an image or something and link it back to your site. For example, I found an image I like at ForFree.com (I have no clue if this is a real url), but they disabled right-clicking and didn't give out the code. I really want the image, so I decide to look in the source code, and find the image url: http://www.forfree.com/cool_image.gif (not a real url). I take that url and link to it from my site. THAT is direct linking. If you wanted to find the url so you could save the image and then upload it later, that's okay because you're sucking up your own bandwidth.
Bandwidth is a space on a website basically, and those who link outside the site suck up your bandwidth. If a lot of users do that, the site may even crash down. Bandwidth is something webowners pay for, and I know it's expensive. So imagine if you own a domain, and find lots of people direct linking, sucking up the expensive space you PAY for. I wouldn't like it either.
