Thank You

When I feel down and out,
And on my face lies a pout,
I can see your light of help,
Shimmering like a strand of kelp.
I know you'll always be there,
Willing to smile and always share.
I never took the time to thank,
Your patient ways and your high rank.
You are my favorite teacher and friend,
I'd stick with you until the world's end,
I respect you more than anyone,
To smile, laugh, and just have fun.
I've never seen you with a frown,
Never scary like a clown.
Thank you for everything,
Your help is more valuable,
Than a diamond ring.
I've treasured every precious moment,
And you know that I always will.
Once again I thank you,
For your help and your thoughts,
But most of all,
You.

When I was first miserable, I had to keep all my troubles to myself because I felt there was no one left to trust. Then occasionally we came upon a subject in health class that really broke me down (peer pressure) and I went to my teacher, Miss Ogimi and told her everything. I cried my heart out and she completely understood and knew she couldn't say anything to make me feel any better except that she will always be there for me to talk to. I wrote this poem for her to thank her how much her faith changed my life forever and I will never forget anything she has ever taught me that school year.
